Team Mayor vs Team Deputy Mayor!
As a finale to our BCC Peewee finals, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillors, Youth Shadow Councillors and the extended Belize City Council staff and family played an exhibition match which was so highly competitive, that at the end of regulation was all tied up 62-62. The game eventually  had to be decided in overtime, with the Deputy Mayor team outscoring their opponents 7-2 in overtime to seal the 69-64 thriller.
The energy in the Belize City Civic Center was electric and the cheering, sometimes jeering, was loud as staff, peewee players, parents and residents supported their respective choices, win,  lose or draw. At the end of the day it was another event organized by the council geared at promoting safe, inclusive, resilient communities!
