In recognition of National Clean-Up Day, the Belize City Council partnered with the Department of the Environment, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Development and Housing, Pathlight International, and the Child Advisory Body of Belize to conduct a comprehensive clean-up and educational campaign in the Pickstock Street and Lovely Lane areas of the Fort George constituency in Belize City.
Our dedicated team included Council Members, over 50 Pathlight scholarship students, Youth Shadow Council members, as well as staff from our Sanitation Department and the Road Maintenance Unit of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Development & Housing. These combined efforts highlight how collective action can bring meaningful transformation to our city.
As with all of the Council's sanitation efforts, we urge everyone to remember that maintaining a clean and healthy environment is a shared responsibility. We call on all residents to exercise civic pride and actively contribute to keeping our city clean. Littering undermines these effortsβlet's ensure our hard work makes a lasting difference. Together, we can protect and uplift our city for generations to come.
Thanks to the hard work and commitment of all involved, we successfully removed over 25 loads of waste, giving the area a much-needed facelift.
In addition to waste removal, members of the Youth Shadow Council and Pathlight International engaged with residents through educational outreach, promoting proper waste disposal and encouraging sustainable practices for a greener Belize City.
