The Belize City Council Completes 2nd Park Rehabilitation Under the Belize City Urban Sustainability and Smart City Project!
Through our partnership with the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF), the newly rehabilitated Collet Community Fitness Nook was unveiled by Mayor Bernard Wagner and Councillors Natasha Pipersburgh, Edmund Kwan, Kaya Cattouse, Stephanne Hamilton, and Javier Castellanos.
This rehabilitated open space is now fitted with newly installed exercise equipment, a new basketball court with refurbished fencing, picnic tables, park benches, and a food shop. In the coming weeks, residents can also look forward to a free Wi-Fi zone to be added to the Fitness Nook.
Our efforts yielded a number of local sponsors who we must acknowledge such as SMART, Belize Water Services, Bowen and Bowen, Hamilton Welding, Slingshot Signs Co. and Quan’s Trading. We must also acknowledge those community members who assisted with this process and made this contribution a reality.
The Belize City Council remains committed to providing universal access to safe, inclusive and green public spaces for men, women, children, and youth in order to build more resilient communities.
